The tarantula picture is of my Usambara, also referred as an "orange demon spider". It is an African species and considered very aggressive, and not for the beginner. I consider it "defensive". They will live contently unless otherwise "messed with" and will quickly strike at what they obviously consider a threat. ( gee, kinda sounds like me)
I have other species I've raised from very small spiderlings, although I do not breed them. The kicker is - I'm quite arachnophobic actually. But my tarantulas stay in their individual terrariums, and I never handle even the docile ones.
But I'm not just a spider guy. I play bass guitar in various bands, but prefer playing blues. I aslo enjoy shooting, reading, and collecting. I've been married for 40 years, two children, 5 grand-children, and a great grandchild on the way. I have been designing and fitting artificial limbs for aprox. 33 years, and am myself an amputee. I enjoy hanging out with my biker and 1%ER club friends, although I no longer ride. But back to the tarantula picture, I don't have a decent picture of myself, so "Voodoo" the orange demon spider is substituting for now. I don't have a blog of my own yet.
